Lagoons RV Resort, Rockport- Anyone Stayed there?

We are trying to get down to Rockport for the 4th of July and are looking into places to camp. We have a 40ft motorhome and pull a jeep. My husband likes larger sites and prefers cement, pull-thrus, but as long as it's nice and easy to get around, he's okay.

Has anyone stayed at Lagoons? I looked at the reviews and one poster said that they'd heard to lock your doors because they'd had breakins, so that's a little disturbing... but the place looks very nice, so I'm just wondering if that's something to have to worry about or a one-off thing or what.

And also looking for some other suggestions. Drifters and their other place were booked for that Weekend.

Also, the people we are visiting live in "City by the Sea", so close to there would be preferred... but not sure how picky we can be.

Thanks for any info/help
  • I have stayed there a few times in the winter time. It is a nice park roads and pads are all concrete. they are narrow but OK most are back ins they will be plenty long for you.
  • We never stayed at the lagoons Rv when we were down in Feb but we rode our bikes thru a couple times. Seemed like a nice rv resort. Talked to a couple people anout the park and no one mentioned anything about theft or having to keep things locked up. Park seemed pretty active at the time . There were lots of long sites . We stayed in rental units next door to the Sand dollar Rv park and walked thru it just about every nite and it seemed like a nice park, some longer pull thru sites on cement and some smaller sites on gravel / dirt. If it was my choice I would choose the Lagoons , sites seemed larger and not as many low hanging trees .
