Looking for CGs with limited/no generator hours

I'm compiling a list of campgrounds with no hookups that either (1) don't allow generators at all, or (2) allow them only during specific, limited hours. I know most places have "quiet hours" overnight, but I'm looking for ones that have specific hours for generator use.

For example, at Yosemite, generators are allowed only from 7am to 9am, noon to 2pm, and 5pm to 7pm. That's what I'm looking for. Or places that don't allow them at all.

Any examples would be greatly appreciated.

Would it be rude to ask just why you want this list? It seems rather pointless.

But I'm asking for campgrounds that don't have power and either don't allow generators or have limited generator hours outside of the usual quiet-hour restrictions.

The North Carolina Fairgrounds you mentioned--those sites have electric hookups. Did you boondock there and were prohibited from running a generator?

At Bridge Bay, generator hours are 8am - 8pm, which is more or less the same as quiet hours. And I've stayed at Oregon Inlet and my recollection is that it was the same thing--generators not allowed during quiet hours.

I'm trying to find campgrounds that have greater restrictions on generators than those. Like the rule in all Vermont state parks mentioned above, which limits them to 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.

I have to ask why? Because the list is so extensive it will take a very long time to complete. A general rule would be easier.

State parks without power
Most NP unless run by concession
About 1/2 COE parks
Most NF campgrounds

But in case you are trying to compile it anyhow, here are the 69 campgrounds (out of 210) I have stayed at since 2004 that did not have power:

NY DEC campground generator hours are 9-11AM & 4-7PM. If it's "excessively loud" you'll be asked to shut it down.

Vermont state parks (all of them with campgrounds) have no hookups and limited generator hours, as I recall generally 8-10 AM and something like 5-7 PM. I think the New York state parks are similar.

Enforcement may occasionally be hit-or-miss. Most people are reasonably considerate, in my experience.

I'll respond to my own question--I just remembered that Gros Ventre Campground near Grand Teton NP has no-generator loops.

Big Bend NP

Cottonwood CG - no generators allowed

Rio Grande Village - only one loop allows generators - 8-8 pm

Chisos Basin - only one loop allows generators - 8-11 am and 5-8 pm

(Chisos Basin says '24 foot lenght' but I've seen some Class C up to 32 foot in the CG while hosting. Only a couple spots. It will definitely not take a 26 foot or longer trailer anywhere but the host spots. When we left - I had to back my 36 ft long trailer up hill out of the campground. Another host had to back his 38ft long Class A up the hill out of the CG also. No room to turn around such a rig in the CG. I STRONGLY advise a reconissance trip into the CG before pulling in with any trailer.)

Most national parks have sections of campgrounds with no generators. And within the sections that allow generators, the times are restricte, generally to 4-5 hours/day.

The specific ones I know of are Two Medicine in GNP, and Balsam Mountain in GRSM.
