We need to stay here for about a week for a family emergancy. I have looked at maps but they were not very clear. Could someone give me clear directions to this park from I-65 at the Tenn. Ala. state ...

Coming South on I-65 - take I-565 toward Huntsville.
Take exit 19C. Merge left onto Washington Street NW, then turn right onto Pratt Ave. NW. At this point you will see signs to Montesano State Park.
Continue on Pratt - it becomes Bankhead Pkwy NE. Follow the signs. Pretty steep hill on the way in, but roads are good.
Montesano is a nice park, but older, so some sites may be short. Mention the length of your camper when you check in. They will usually let you pick a site first.

Do Not take Bankhead Pkwy. Take Memorial Pwky SE south to Governors Dr SW. Take Governors Dr up the mountain to Monte Sano Blvd at top of hill. Monte Sano has some WES sites so ask about that. It is older but we've never had a problem fitting.
