Monticello Iowa area camping

Anyone know of any campgrounds around Monticello, Iowa. We want to attend the NDOG, National Dutch Oven Gathering, this coming Sept, but can't attend for the entire weekend and I think sites for Saturday night only will be impossible to find at the locale of the event. We will be coming from St. Louis, MO is that matters. Drive a B so size is not an issue, just require elect., a moderately level site, and a picnic table. All the rest is gravy! Much appreciated gravy, but not needed.
  • There are two rv parks in Monticello. Walnut Acres is the largest walnutacrescampground.com The second is not so upscale but nice its the Outback: outbackcanoerental.com There is a Jones County park north of Anamosa. The last one is in Cascade which is north of Monticello: riverviewridgecampgrounds.com/
  • Suggestion: Last year at DeGray State Park in Arkansas there were individuals registered for the NDOG who stayed in tents - they invited persons in small RV to stay on their site drive with them. Worked out great. Post on the NDOG website your need.
