My old Kentucky home state park

What would be the preferred sites at this park for a 34 foot 5th wheel. We have never been here and would like to spend three nights this May. Thanks for any help.
  • Hello, We stumbled upon this campground back in 2013. We loved it. We have a 35 foot travel trailer and stayed in site 6. This past summer we stopped here again and stayed in site 8. LOVE this state park with full hook up (in these sites) and wifi. The golf course is stunning and we would ride our bikes through them after it closed. Also, don't miss a musical at the My Kentucky Home under the stairs. Beautiful. Enjoy!
  • Unless you are "Absolutely" wanting to stay at Old Kentucky Home, Taylorsville Lake State Park is still in the same proximity as Old Kentucky Home and the sites are more than accommodating (anywhere) for any size RV. And you are still within decent driving distance of pretty much everything in that area. (Just my suggestion, we stayed at Taylorsville for a week Summer of 2017. Had a GREAT time. They do enforce dogs on a leash, as this state park has lots and lots of horse riders on the trails.
  • To answer your question spots 19, 21 and 22 would work, so would 17. We have been there with our 38 ft 5vr and those are the best spot. The pull thru spot, I think it’s 39 is a joke. It literally is where the road gets a little wide by the dumpster. Spots 24 to 34 will not work as they are probably too short and hard to get into. Spots 6,8,12 and 14 have full hook ups and would work too but its hard to get a reservation for those.
  • small and tight campsites. As is normal in Ky, they have a common water hydrant and electric between sites. So be sure to bring an additional 25 foot extension cord for your hook up. Don't be put off by us saying small and tight. It can be done. Just takes a little gee and hawing.
  • we were there about 6 years ago in a pop-up, I remember all the sites were small. Our site backed up to the golf course. Neat area though, lots to see! Bardstown is steeped in American history and Bourbon. Don't miss the old Cathedral there, the old paintings will blow your mind.
