- RayUSMCExplorerCongratulations to your son! OOHRAH AND SEMPER FI!
All the suggestions are good. The area around Quantico has a lot of visitors so pick one and make your reservations ASAP. - magnusfideExplorer II

Sounds like that would make an "exciting" camping trip.:E - oldchief7155ExplorerI completely forgot about them closing it. They found sone unexploded ordinance in the area.
- gjcummingsExplorerThanks again to everyone. We'll check them all out. To bad about Lunga Park sounded perfect. Quite a story if you google it.
- oldchief7155ExplorerYour son can get you into Lunga Park, right n the base near the FBI academy. Nice setting and pretty good sized sites. Prices are cheap.
- lucy6194Explorerpulled into Auqina Pines on way back from NC to Cape cod this spring. It rained so hard washed out under our 5th wheel. Washed away the levelers that were not held down by the wheels. Horrible site. Owner (manager) new we were to get heavy rains but still but us in the gully. Needed 4 wheel drive in truck to get us out. When I stopped in morning to tell him he should examine the site he got beligerant yelling at me saying he was glad we were leaving. Guess he either is rude or just hadn't had his second cup of coffee. We have camped from east coast to Alaska and east to west north and south have NEVER had anyone treat me like that. I thought my husband would get out of the truck and then there'd be worse trouble. Just plain rude. Regarding Quantico we were disappointed we couldn't stay there as we love the Famcamps.
- suprzExplorerTell your son I said thank you for his service and Semper Fi
- TripleEExplorerLunga Park on the base is still closed with no re-open date. Too bad, it was a great place
- NCWriterExplorerWe stayed at the Prince William FP RV campground (on PWFP border, not the dry CG inside the park) a few days ago. They are a concessioner for the National Park. Good experience. The pool sure felt good.

We stayed there back in '83 for a month when we first moved to the area.
There are also several good county CGs in Prince William and Fairfax counties that you can search to see if any are close enough and meet your needs.
