New park in Hutchinson, Ks - opening soon
A new park, one sorely needed, will be opening this year off the SW intersection of K 96 & US 50 just south of Hutchinson, Kansas.
I visited with the construction project manager today and walked the project to see the vision of the owner, a silent member here, who reached out to me a couple of years ago about his idea. Sadly the owner is away this week on family business.
They have a ways to go, however this looks like its going to be a fine place with quality throughout, a full concrete washroom/ tornado shelter complex, restored pioneer schoolhouse office. Cabins are being built onsite to reflect pioneer history, yet to modern standard. Equestrian facilities, fishing pond, free streaming capable wifi,and more are planned
It will be a nice alternative to the state fairgrounds and the one other old worn private camp in Hutchinson.
It looks to be the place we will visit when in the area to visit family.
