We visted Niagara Falls years ago and had stayed at both the US side and the CN side. We found both sides of the border quite sketchy there with prostitutes, open air drug dealings, and actually had our motorhome broken into and a nice mountain bike stolen from us at the Niagara Falls KOA on the Canadian side one day. In spite of the above.. my daughter is 13 now and I'd like her to see the falls. Does anyone have any current recommendations for a safe spot to stay and park the Class A (with our little doggie inside) while we see the Falls and attractions? We have a tow vehicle available... we also might just drive the MH directly to the Falls parking area. I don't mind if camping is away from Niagara a little ways either North or South if it is safer than the Niagara area. Thanks for any advice.

I've stayed on the Canadian side a number of times at the Riverside Motel & Campground in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Just a couple of miles from the falls, and very pleasant folks. Not a luxury resort, but they do have full hook up sites.

We stayed at the Niagara Falls KOA last year for a week and it is a busy, well managed secure campgrounds. Lots of kids and kids activities. Also you can take the town bus right in front for going to the falls area. No problems whatever. Have been going to Niagara Falls of and on for about 50 years with never a problem.

I liked the KOA on Canadian side. They did have a sign as you entered the Campground, to put everything under lock and key. This was 3 years ago. The kids in the area jump the fence at night and steal everything not tied down, even your beer, from coolers. The falls are great the area out of town not so nice anymore.

If you want full hook ups then the Grand Island KOA or Branches of Niagara CGIf you can get by on electric only, Four Mile Creek State Park in Youngstown, NY

Sorry that it didn't work out this time, Class A, but I do hope you will get to visit Fifty Point some time on a future trip.

I will just add that we have friends that we met on an RV forum who live in Ontario. We actually met them in person in the Rio Grande Valley here in Texas. They spent a couple of nights in their RV right here in our back yard.

They are the ones who told us about Fifty Point and they brought out their RV and "camped" with us for the week we were there. They also took us around in their car and down to the Falls. It was our very first visit to Niagara Falls and we have beautiful memories.

Yes, your suggestion was exactly right on what we would prefer.. Thank you. Sadly they do not have water, elect, and sewer available for our days. Thank you anyway though.. next time up we will try there again.

We went to the Falls (Canadian side) to camp every year when the kids were still with us. We camped at a few different CGs, but never on Lundy's Lane. Didn't even want to drive down that road with the kids. The last CG we stayed at was King Waldorf's - nice sites and easy access to the Falls. Never had any problems with bad guys in all our years of going.

I have recommended this several times and will do so again.

We enjoyed very much staying most of a week at Fifty Point Conservation Area in Ontario--a quite peaceful campground with beautiful camping sites with good separation from neighbors. Since you have a toad vehicle this could be ideal for you. As I remember it is probably 40 to 45 miles over to the Canadian side of the Falls.

The campground is on Lake Ontario. We crossed over from Port Huron, MI to Sarnia, Ontario.

Suggesting someplace that is 45 miles away from the destination is not normal considering there are many more campgrounds much closer.

We stayed in Four Mile Creek campground on our trip to Niagara Falls, and enjoyed it very much. We, too, were appalled at the condition of the "civilization" on the American side adjacent to the falls.

With 13yr old, Branches as their is zip line, canoe rentals, bike riding, activities and pool in CG. Plenty on NY side, walk across to Canada and plenty on CA side. Amusement park in Canada was fun but ton of walking.

Located on Canadian side and about 20-25 minutes from the falls. It was suggested to us by our Canadian friends and we had a blast at their waterpark.
