Northwest North Carolina recommendations please

Planning a trip to Asheville, Boone area in North Carolina soon. Enjoy the less populated scenic areas. Please suggest things to see & do..as well as campgrounds. Driving class B. Thanks for suggest...

Yup, wife and I could spend our vacation in good bookstores. One of our favorites had a tea room in the back. Wish I could remember the name of it but it was St. Petersburg.
