If you have not gone yet, we just stayed at the Luray KOA two weeks ago with a TT and can give you a preview. Was well kept as all KOAs we have been are, is fine if your main criteria is to be close to any of the activities in the area. Sited in an open area that was carved out of a cornfield, although most every site did have one mature tree providing shade. Sites were of reasonable size, overall campground small, so only one building with 2 shower stalls in each of the restrooms, could be a little crowded on a busy weekend. Nothing in the campstore but a few first aid items, ice, and firewood. Avoid sites in the 145-151 range, too close to the sewer caps, when it gets warm, the smell is noticeable. In general, it was a decent, small, quiet campground with good access to the caverns, the town, the Shenandoah River, and the National Park. If you want a more active campground, Jellystone is close by, place was hopping every time we drove by. For a more wooded campground, try the Harrisonburg KOA.
