overnighting at Morongo Casino

I'm planning on stopping overnight at Morongo on my way back from Rio Del Sol RV park on the river. Has anyone done this? Is it used much? Is it safe to park your TT there while going in?

I don't gamble, but I do buffet. They said they would send a shuttle to pick us up after we parked in the RV lot. I suspect getting a shuttle back might be a tad harder, so I'm taking my tow vehicle.
  • Just got home after overnighting at 'Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino' in Indio, CA.

It was better than I expected. I had heard that these Casinos don't like you to really camp, but there were plenty of generators running, pop outs and awnings deployed, lawn chairs and dogs about.

It was nice and level, so I just stayed hitched up to my TT. We hiked to the casino, which wasn't that far. It was a pleasant, well-lit walk. The buffet was a little pricy, but very nice. I guess the golf course down the road makes it a resort.

Some of the people hanging around in the tobacco-smelling gambling areas were very odd. Creepy vibes. Didn't take long to get through it all, though.

If all casinos were like this, they would make an excellent place to stop for the night.
  • We stopped there for a couple of hours two months ago. Lots of room and a good place to stop. Far enough off the freeway to be kinda quiet.

I've parked/overnighted there years ago, it was no problems at all and the shuttle does a good job coming and going. We just spent a week in Palm Springs and that Fantasy Springs Casino has many more RV's in it than Morongo did....just for info.

Thanks for the tip! That looks like a nicer place, and it's closer to half way home for us.
