Pompano Beach Fl Campground

We are looking for a place to stay while attending an event in Pompano Beach ( event will be in the area of the intersection of Sample Road and Fl Turnpike )

3 nights, 2nd week in April

Looking for a place that is nice to use as a base for our event and to check our the area. There are 2 adults, no kids.

Highland Woods and Breezy Hill are close by, may be the same place. Also found Paradise Island but it is a bit further away. Any opinions on these or other suggestions please.
Thanks, TR
  • It's been years since I lived down there and to be honest, I didn't leave anything behind. You might find some Broward County Parks relatively close and reasonably priced for the area.
  • John Prince Park
is a little further away yet a very nice facility. Otherwise Breezy Hill is ok, the snowbirds should be leaving so it shouldn't be as packed as high season.
  • Since we live in the area, we have not stayed in an RV park here, but if we did we would check out the Aztec RV Park, which I think accepts Class A only.
  • Lived there 40 yrs, worked by Sample & the Turnpike. When we retired & sold the house, we lived in the RV for the last few months at Markham Park. Markham has lots going on in the park, is in a great location, close to everything (shops, restaurants, Sawgrass Mall, etc) & is centrally located to most of the highways. A lot of the sites are large, the park is well taken care of, & Antonino's Pizza is a must.
  • John Prince and Markham Parks are both nice campgrounds, have stayed in both. Have to check out Antonino's Pizza next time!!
  • want to thank you for the john prince campground recommendation. great spot

We stayed at Aztec for a couple of days around xmas. Aztec is very, very nice. All sites have pavers, many have tiki huts.
