RV Parking in Santa Fe?

Is there any place to park a 34 foot RV within walking distance (a half a mile or less) of the activity/attractions in Santa Fe, NM?
  • There's a parking lot near the Farmer's Market and you can pick up the public bus right there to take you to the attractions. It's not a big city and it's very easy to do.
  • We've stayed at the TrIailer Ranch RV Resort on Cirrillos in Santa Fe. The city bus stops right in frontant will take you to the Plaza downtown.i think you can buy a round trip ticket for a dollar. Very convenient and easier than trying to park downtown.
  • At the visitor center at 491 Old Santa Fe Trail we saw a few campers parked although I can't say any were s big as yours. You can park for free if you go in the Visitor Center and sign the book. I'd suggest you give them a call and ask about parking your camper. It was very convenient spot for walking around the historic/shopping areas. Here's their #, (505) 827-7336. At the worst maybe they can suggest somewhere else.
  • I would not recommend taking a larger RV to the visitor center. Just for starters, you're going to have to navigate some very crowded, narrow, 19-th century streets in order to get there. And when you arrive, you will find that the parking lot is hardly designed for big rigs to turn around on.

  • Agree with the narrow street problem. I had a few problems negotiating some streets just in my 3/4-ton truck, mainly due to all the parked cars that narrowed the streets even more. We parked in a private lot 3-4 blocks south of the cathedral and walked to the plaza from there.

We generally stay at Santa Fe Skies RV Park just east of I-25 when we are in that area. But we have also stayed at the COE campground at Cochiti Lake and commuted to town.

Are you coming up to Colorado after NM?
  • Thanks for all the suggestions. It sounds like public transportation is the way to go.
  • We were driving by a parking lot at the west side of the state office buildings and were slowing down to determine if we could actually enter and park there with the MH. The parking lot attendant came out to us in the street and said that he would find a place for us to park there. I wish that I could offer more information, about where, but it was a great experience.

My BIL lives there, and now we usually park the MH at his house and have a tow vehicle to truly experience Santa Fe without parking issues.
  • The Rail Runner has a station close to Santa Fe Skies. It can carry you to 410 S. Guadalupe Street down town or to Albuquerque.
