- lbrjetExplorerI just read an interesting article this morning on the KOA. They have installed some large elevated solar panels with shaded RV parking underneath. The picture shows it covers quite a few spaces. This might be just the ticket for you. We have been to that KOA and it is nice.
- LaurenExplorerWe live just outside of Tucson. Prince of Tucson is next to sewage treatment facility - need I say more! Don't know Sent Peak but could be fine. Justins could be fine.
I would recommend the KOA. PM me for details. - TyroneandGladysExplorerTwo of the best things to help you stay cool is try to get a spot with shade and having the awning side of your RV facing West so that with the awning out you shade the West side of your RV during the hottest part of the day
- drwwicksExplorerI'm going to suggest the silver foil bubble insulation for the windows. Your air conditioners won't be able to keep up with the sun shining in. Drapes or blinds don't help much. Don't forget some for the skylights/vents you have. Be aware the wind can kick up quickly and strong so you may not be able to keep your awning out especially while you are gone. I stayed 3 weeks in September in a 5th wheel toy hauler, single pane windows and the foil was a life saver especially on the west side.
I also lived there 12 years and heat is relative. If it's dry and you can stay in shade, life is enjoyable even in the 100s. - NaioExplorer II

Thanks to all, yes, we know its hot, but business affects our timing, likewise hotel or motel? We travel with our pets, dog and cat, and it can be difficult to find suitable affordable accommodations.

It might be worth asking on the TripAdvisor forums for a cheap, nice, pet friendly motel.
How would you keep them cool in the RV when it's 110 degrees out?
AirBNB or VSRB migt be worth looking into, also. - Cloud_9ExplorerThanks to all, yes, we know its hot, but business affects our timing, likewise hotel or motel? We travel with our pets, dog and cat, and it can be difficult to find suitable affordable accommodations.
Carl - imgoin4itExplorerIf you want quiet check out Justin's diamond J. It is west on the Ajo highway about 7 miles from I-19 then right on San Joaquin for another mile or so. Very large sites. We stayed there and will again.

While you're awaiting a personal reply, perhaps a simple search of 'Tucson' the box above would find things worth reading.
There's not actually much here. I looked earlier this year when I was thinking of going.
As for summer heat, yes! I have a friend who lives thete. She considers 105 degrees balmy weather, good for gardening in. I, too would suggest a hotel. - drwwicksExplorerI have stayed in the Prince of Tucson. Close to I-10 but sound barriers make it relatively quiet and next to downtown. Reasonable sized sites but crappy wifi if you want it. Won't be many people there in the summer.
- 2gypsies1Explorer IIIAny park in the Tucson area will be quiet in summer! :) Is there a reason you need to go at that time? It's extremely hot - like 100 deg and higher.
