Scenic Mountain RV Park

This weekend we stayed at Scenic Mountain RV park in Milledgeville GA. This was the first time we stayed here and found it only because everything else was full. I want to say it was one of the nicest parks we have stayed at in Georgia. The park owner and onsite attendants were all extremely nice and helpful. Butch the owner has owned it for 2 years and has made a lot of repairs and updates from where the previous owners let it fall into disrepair.

Now the sites are all full hookup, cable TV, wifi and a salt water in ground pool. The sites have a fire ring and picnic table. They are in the process of ensuring the sites a level but we didn't find them to be too bad. There are hiking trails as well as 5 fishing ponds. Yes it is catch and keep and you don't have to have a license. There is a bathhouse, small but functional. There is a play ground for the little ones. There is also a nice club house for any social events you might have. They also, have a cabin and are expecting to build 2 more. They are Good Sam Approved.

They are really trying to make this work and make it a place that campers will want to return to. They said if we enjoyed our stay please spread the word, if we were not please let them know so they can fix it. I can say that I am spreading the word as we had a very enjoyable weekend.

Thanks for the heads up. You can help them by posting your excellent review at Trip Advisor. RVers use TA to plan their trips.

I have posted there as well. Just waiting for them to publish it.

    Southeast

Well if you are looking in Georgia the only thing with traffic is around Atlanta we have a lot of it. If you are coming through I would recommend doing it at night or between 10:00 - 2:00. There is also a lot of construction going on as well

Now there are many campgrounds that accommodate large trailers. The one I mentioned here does. There were several large toy haulers there this weekend. They were 38 - 45 feet in length. This campground has a lot of historic places near by that would be great to ride your Harley too.

The North Georgia mountains have several big rig friendly sites. River Bend in Hiawassee for one.nand lots of nice plays to,ride to and see. If you up into Tennessee Pigeon Forge has Pine Mountian and there you will see a lot of bikes touring up in the Great Smokey Mountains. But timing there is critical. Holidays around PF are very crowded as well as leave changing seasons. Then you have Savannah and Jekyl Island areas.

South Carolina has some very nice places inland and of course Myrtle Beach. Check out Willow Tree (Longs SC). Very big rig friendly and one of our favorites.

North Carolina we have been to the Ashville area but don't have a favorite place there.

Lost of places to see and a lot of,historic and scenic places to ride to.

    Come see us. :B
  • Nice area pool an hot tub. I see where you have taken in the shout east for camping. How are roads, traffic and camp grounds? Where from N M and have explored the South West pretty good . I'm condescending venturing out your way. I do have a big toy hauler my venture would be to camp different location and ride the Harley site seeing.
