- OaklevelExplorerand some areas are fine call ahead........ there are state DOT web sites with road info.
- martintoExplorerCoastal areas hit hardest, and west to the center of the state, Columbia and some areas in the south eastern upstate area. We live near Greenville, 30 miles from NC mountains, 60 from Ashevillle. We had 6.5 inches this weekend, vs. Columbia at 1-2 ft! Some flash floods in the mountains, which is not uncommon. I'll be camping up that way in another week or so. Sunny today and things are drying out here...cut the grass today.
- Community AlumniJust got an email from friends MBTP who are there for the winter. Campground is fine but downtown MB and many accesses are a mess.
- Baileys_BuddiesExplorerHere's a link to the Charleston, SC CBS affiliate's website showing pics of the "over hyped" flooding http://www.live5news.com/slideshow?widgetid=170559&clienttype=generic.
- pegdiverExplorerMany places are flooded or are extremely wet. The best you can do is call the campground to see what conditions they have. Also check the roads to get there. Bridges are out, flooding of roads and other factors are hindering travel in some areas. Some small local dams have not held and the water has flooded local homes. It really depends on where you are as to what flooding is there. We got 'told to leave' on Ocracoke last week and visitors are still not allowed back due to flooded roads - on Ocracoke and Cedar Island and Swan Quarter. Most of that was due to high tide. We are in a waiting mode in North Carolina but hope to resume our travels soon. Check with the state DOT for road closures and the campground for flooding.

Anyone have news on Myrtle Beach Travel Park?
We elected to pass on going this fall, we're only heading down after Christmas. I'm also wondering about all the rv storage lots in the region; glad we have our trailer at home this fall.
I would call them.
To anyone with reservations/travel plans: Be aware that even if the park isn't flooded, roads are largely impassable. It's still raining there; residents don't have drinking water and their sewers aren't working. The situation in SC is an extreme state of emergency. http://www.foxnews.com/weather/2015/10/05/at-least-5-dead-as-torrential-rain-floods-pound-east-coast/
Personally I would stay away so that emergency services can do their jobs with less traffic in the way.
No, we're not going until after the holidays, I was just curious how things are there.

They did get some puddling in the area closer to the beach, but it was during high tide. They were having issues with sand being moved and covering up some of the drains, but they worked to clear them so the water could recede back out to the ocean. They did say the 2000 and 4000 area was good to go.
