- martintoExplorerJames Island County Park. Very Nice CG with FHU. Walking trails. Short ride to Folly Beach. Just south of Charleston.
- CeciltExplorerYou won't have to deal with kids and golf carts in March at Ocean Lakes unless you are there the two weeks around Easter. After that it dies off again until Memorial Day. It will be a relaxing time in March at OL.

If you enjoy being circled by golf carts throwing out beer cans and playing loud rap music, then Hunting Island is not for you, but I have a few recommendations.
That's about what places like Myrtle Beach feel like to me. ....and that's NO joke!:B - tragusa3ExplorerOP, it would help if you describe what you look for in a "good" park.
We've been up and down the SC coast and in most every campground available. One thing I can tell you is that there is a very wide variety of experiences available! For instance, comparing the back loop of Hunting Island to the beach front side of Ocean Lakes is worlds apart. If you enjoy being circled by golf carts throwing out beer cans and playing loud rap music, then Hunting Island is not for you, but I have a few recommendations. :) That's a joke folks, settle down. - Farm_CampExplorer

And if you are going off season... Have to say, it seemed pretty darn quiet when we were there in early June. Even on the weekend it was quiet after 10. Indoor swimming option as well if it's cooler - that saved our vacation year before last when we were hit with a protracted spell of cold rainy weather. - sgfryeExplorer

My wife and I are looking to spend the month of March in South Carolina. Any reccomendations or places to avoid. Thanks
Depends on what you like.
IF you like tourist crowds and fun parks go to Myrtle Beach.
IF you like quieter camping try Huntington Beach State Park.

and i will add myrtle beach state park is good because you are secluded in a state park with a mile long beach front and still close enough to do the myrtle beach tourist thing. - CroweExplorerx 2 on Myrtle Beach Travel Park.
- Dutch_12078Explorer IIBe aware that the photos of the "el primo" sites at Edisto are pre storm damage and some sites no longer look the same. The storm pushed the berm between those sites and the ocean up several feet higher blocking any ocean view. Before the storms, we could see the ocean over the berm from that row of sites from our front window, but not after.
- TenOCNomadYou may be too early to see the outstanding gardens. We like to go the first week of April and some years that is too soon.
Charleston Gardens - JuzaxadarExplorerIf Myrtle Beach, the Myrtle Beach Travel Park is like Ocean Lakes. It's huge and lots of people and stuff going on, pools, fishing, etc.
It's not quiet but perfect for kids.
