Living in St. Louis we want to get away for a week of so to a warmer climate in say late Feb or early March. Beach would be nice, but not needed. Rather have nice warmer weather, pleasant campground near good food. Any suggestions? Have geezer pass and military access.

Uchee Creek Military Family Camp near Fort Benning is nice and has full (E50/W/S) hookups but it's a good drive out and up to Columbus for all the amenities you might want.

Engineer Beach in Fort Rucker is very nice but doesn't have any sites with sewer connections, you have to use the dump site. They do accept the America the Beautiful pass making their sites currently #13.50 a night. Yet again, it's a fair drive to get out of the base for restaurants and such but we didn't find it that bad. If you go there you have to visit the Army Aviation Museum on post.

If you had to choose between Big Lagoon and Rocky Bayou, Florida, which would you choose and why.
To us the beach would be nice to see and maybe step in the water, but not a necessity. A pleasant campground relatively near conveniences and good food are a top priority.

You can also go to google maps and in the search box, put - rv parks and campgrounds near whatever city and state you want. They will come up on the map and a list on the left side You can click on them for the name and many times a link to their website. RVPark reviews also has a list of campgrounds by city and state with site/amenities information and reviews by users.

Been to Davis Bayou and really enjoyed it but the DW wants something different. Doesn't have to be south nor beach area, just warm. Thinking Carolina's are a good drive, but nor sure how much warmer they'd be.

I tried many combinations (for Gulf SP) of dates for early March for 3, 4 & 5 days and no hits. Guess we'll move on to another area, but where?

South Louisiana has some good food, and several good campgrounds although weather can be hit or miss. We spent the first weekend in Feb at Palmetto Island state park in south Louisiana last spring, temperatures were in the high 70's to low 80's in the daytime, and night time lows were in the 60's as I recall. Abouth once per month the local dutch oven cooking club does a demonstration with sampler lunch on Saturday's at this park. Of course we had another trip planned to east Texas a few weeks later that we cancelled as a cold front was coming through and the high's were going to be below freezing.

Maybe farther than you want to travel, but South Carolina has some pretty great state parks. Pick any of them, and you won't be disappointed.
