Do they allow campfires? I cant find any info on if they have fire pits at each site. Thanks
Yes -- you need to bring your own portable grill. But if it's unusually dry there might be a ban on fires. That happened to us in a COE CG in South Florida several times, but we've never encountered that at Topsail. - MushroomExplorerYeah Wahoo that wasn't the part of the trip I was thinking. I recall that it terminated above the beach. I was looking for the info from the end of that boardwalk down to the beach. Asked and answered. Google Earth is my friend but it sucks for depth questions. :)

It's been ages since I have been to Topsail and was wondering if I could get to beach level in a wheelchair, or is it steps down from the boardwalk?
Take a look at the park on Google Maps or Google Earth. You'll see a nice long ramp across the dunes to the beach. - MushroomExplorerWoo Whoo! TopSail here we come! Once I get to the beach I can do without the chair....Assuming my loving spouse doesn't just leave me in the water. :) Thanks all!

I remember seeing a beach wheel chair there also.
I seem to recall a ramp and steps at the end of the boardwalk. - sltrawickExplorer

Do they allow bikes on the beach? I know Anastasia allows them and states such on their webpage, but there is no yeah or nay on Topsail's page. Have a fishing cart I'd like to tow down the beach.
Don't think you would be able to ride bikes on the beach anyway. The sand is way to soft. It's not packed like St. Augustine. You can ride to the board walk down to the beach.
Wasn't sure if it would be possible, even if allowed. Looking at the other St. Parks in the panhandle, none say its allowed. Bummer, with 3.5 miles of beach, it'd be a chore to get to the west half of the beach with fishing gear.
Despite that, we are looking forward to our first trip there in August.
Most people stay close to the board walk so you don't have to go very far to get away from people. Tow your fishing cart down to the board walk. Then walk the cart down the boardwalk to the beach. Once you get to the sand you don't have to go to far to get away from people. I have always had a blast surf fishing there. Spanish, blues , skipjacks, spec trout, and more!
