El Charro's in Hondo. The best Caldo De Res I have ever tasted.
We stock up the frig with caldo, enchiladas and caso when passing through.
Rudy & Paco's in Galveston, this is Brazilian
Jay's in Needville, home cook'in like no other.
If you find yourself on the San Antonio river walk, the tortilla soup at Casa Rio. Everything else is OK but I love their tortilla soup.
Grimandi's pizza in San Antonio. It's not tex-mex or BBQ but dang good pizza.
There is a restaurant in Helotes next to a famous dance hall that serves a five star steak. I can't remember the name of either but I can get there by auto pilot. The locals will know what your asking for.
