Yosemite height limits

Has anyone drove a 43 ft Class A through Yosemite Park during the summer? We know we can get under 13 foot clearance. I would love to know of any campgrounds in the park that would let us stay. The Driver is an experienced truck driver so getting it around is not a worry.
  • We had a look around the CGs within Yosemite. Very few sites available for anything over say 35'.

As far as using anything to drive around from viewpoint to viewpoint goes, also difficult. For the valley floor we parked our truck & took the bikes for the day. Only other option is to ride the shuttle buses.

    The place is unbeievably crowded.
  • As much as I love the park, I doubt you will be able to find a place to park a 43' RV. The place is so crowded, especially in the summer, it is difficult to drive a regular car through. We have actually driven in and then out of the park because of the traffic. Park outside and drive a toad in. At least you have a fighting chance to find a parking spot.
  • The park ranger E-mailed and said there is no spots for 43 so maybe though we can drive through and stop some. Thank you!
  • My fiver is about 13' high. I don't remember any difficulty.

I can say that the allowable lengths for some sites in the valley were a little iffy. I had a 35' spot reserved for a 35' trailer. If there had been anyone in the site across the road from mine I probably couldn't have gotten into or out of my site. The width was tight for my four slides, also.
  • WE went to Yosemite in September, and I only remember some tunnels when you headed for the main part in the valley. As I recall there were big tour busses there, so I do not think that you should have a problem.
