Awning repair

As you see in the photo below, my awning looks bad but it works . Instead of replacing the fabric, can I paint it ? cover it ? We do not use the awning and we just want the RV to look nice when parked in front of our house.

I appreciate your suggestions.

thanks

I bought a can of Latex spray from Big Lots years ago and sprayed the first ft of my main awning where it is exposed. It stopped the leaks where the PO scraped it against a tree limb and made it white again where it was exposed to the elements.

Take it off. Plug the holes, and don't worry about it any more. No need for it, if you don't use it.
  • Maybe you could slit a piece of PVC tubing and slip over it for a cover. A quick wipe of the PVC with acetone should clean off any lettering.
  • The awning fabric is worn out, and you are in danger of it separating while going down the road. If you want a temporary repair, CW and other places sell awning repair tape (often referred to as 100mph tape). You could cover the bad spots with the tape, then spray paint the tape white so it was more cosmetically appealing.
