Closet LED lights

Today I had a few minutes to kill so I installed LED lights in the closets of my Forest River 19RR toy hauler

I bought self adhesive LED light strips from some nondescript company on Ebay. But I see these "light strips" everywhere so they shouldn't be hard to buy.

The light simply runs from top to bottom of the closet, through small holes drilled in the shelves.

A small "normally closed" push button switch turns the light on when the door is opened

The light they throw is perfect for these closets.

Isn't that switch a "normally closed" switch. When the door is open not pressing on the switch, the switch closes, turning on the light. When the door closes and presses on the switch, it opens the switch, turning off the light.

Think of a blade type battery cut off switch. When the switch is open, no current flows.

Nice mod.
Yeah, getting the cabinets lit with LED's is really helpful. I used an LED panel, a dollar store card frame (w/glass lens), and a toggle switch. All in for $5.

Sure beats digging through the closet in the dark.

I'm looking to pickup the same type of light for my next project. Did the no name lights seem ok?

Nice. My closet has sliding doors so adding switches would have been tricky. I installed a motion detector but did add a manual switch if I need to have it on for time without motion. I also added the led's to my bay storage area with a motion detector. Sure makes getting a cold beer from the slide out refer nice.

Great mod, but I'm still looking for that few minutes to kill. Seems illusive at this stage of life!
