We have a large closet in the same area and can't say anything has fallen off. What kind of hangars are you using? I hang my husbands pants over the padded hangars we get from dry cleaning, and our shirts and blouses hang on the plastic hangers we get fron the store. I button the top button on DH shirts too. You can get felt lined hangers cheap and they definitely work, but they are very annoying for everyday use. I would imagine wooden clothes pins would work, clipped on the shoulder area. I must say our closet is so jammed I doubt anything can fall off!
