I would caution on putting "wall paper" on an exterior wall. Worked as an Architect for over 40 years and we found out that if you put "Vinyl Wall Paper" on and exterior wall, it acts like a "vapor barrier" and will cause mold problems on wall at back side of paper.
FWIW, as a contractor with fourty years of experience, I've hardly ever encountered a mold problem on covered wall surfaces, either exterior or partition walls. Any mold problems on habitable space walls or other surfaces has been generated by a very high humidity level. Causes of that high level are not from typical living behavior.
