New Entry Steps

I finally had enough of the finger grabbing, wobbly folding entry stairs and put together these.

I bought 2 of these aluminum 3 step stringers from Home Depot

And 3 of these steps

I used a pair of these stainless steel take apart locking hinges. They are fastened to 1/4" aluminum plate that is screwed to the structure below the door.

I was fortunate that the stairs when assembled were the perfect width and height for my trailer. I will have to use some blocks underneath to account for uneven ground. My 280 pounds jumping up and down on them didn't bother them at all.

Wish I could see the pitcures ... :)

    ??????????

They show up on the PC that I posted with, my laptop and my iphone.
  • I see them too. Nice job and that locking hinge thingy is exactly what I need for another job. Thanks for posting!
  • I am looking at this thread on a tablet and can see all pictures just fine. Just not in the OP. There is a Photobucket placeholder saying "Sorry this person moved or deleted the image". Same story on my smartphone.

Not to worry though - I am sure that it is a nice mod. I will have a look on my laptop next time I wake it up.

Wow, nice work. How are the stair treads attached? Does the whole thing disassemble for transport?
