We have a TT that the bathroom floor is weak. Thinking of putting down some plywwod to strenghen it. If we do so will the toilet fit or is there an adapter needed?

The trick is going to be getting the adapter off of the black tank. In my case I had water damage in the bathroom and ended up replacing part of the floor. The toilet was on the part of the floor that I did not have to replace but the adapter was both screwed into the floor and glued to the top of the tank. I think that it would be fairly tricky to get the adapter off the tank and leave enough to get a new adapter back on the tank.

I also agree w/ JaxDad that you need to fix any underlying problems...

ETA link to my thread on fixing a rotten floor. It has some pictures you might find useful.

Before you worry about the new floor, you better make sure the old floor is DRY.

If you put new wood on top of a wet floor you'll have to redo again it in just a few years when the bottom layer disintegrates.

I think most RV toilets have a flat toilet flange and a rubber seal. The bottom of the flange is on top of the plywood. If you change the floor height, you may have to pull the existing flange up. Mine is glued to a 3" pipe that slides into the black tank. A lipped gasket seals the tank to the pipe. I know some have a 90 elbow beneath the toilet and the black tank entry is offset.

Is there any possibility to remove the bad floor and replace, maintaining the original height?
