Tightening the A/C bolt, putting Thread Lock on them

I completed another project over the weekend of putting some thread lock on my A/C bolts "before" the loosened up and I ended up with a water leak.

On my truck camper I've had the bolts work loose twice, so when it happened the second time I thread lock them with blue thread lock.

    I’m not sure I’d use Locktite on bolts that are meant to be used to adjust for the gasket. Just make it a annual/biannual routine to check the bolts. The op is lucky in that the bolts are accessed from the inside. On Newmar’s you have to get on the roof.

    As I remember the Thread Lock guy explained that when a bolt/nut was tightened there was somewhere around 50% space left over that the fluid fills in to cause the locking. (not sure of the space anymore)

    As a side note for those that don't know, there are different loctite offerings. Using the Blue loctite as Deltabravo did is the correct type for this project. The nuts can be removed with normal tools. Using the Red would require heating it first.

    I'm not sure it is a matter of the bolts loosening up rather than the gasket compressing down which then makes the bolts loose. In that case, the thread lock will not do any good.
