- beemerphile1ExplorerDoesn't seem like a good idea to me.
- wildtoadExplorer III’m not sure I’d use Locktite on bolts that are meant to be used to adjust for the gasket. Just make it a annual/biannual routine to check the bolts. The op is lucky in that the bolts are accessed from the inside. On Newmar’s you have to get on the roof.
- pianotunaNomad IIIGasket compresses over time. Loctite not required.
- ScottGNomadThey aren't loosening, the gasket is compressing.
- Dick_BExplorerAs I remember the Thread Lock guy explained that when a bolt/nut was tightened there was somewhere around 50% space left over that the fluid fills in to cause the locking. (not sure of the space anymore)
- LwiddisExplorer IIInteresting. TY for posting.
- RobWNYExplorerAs a side note for those that don't know, there are different loctite offerings. Using the Blue loctite as Deltabravo did is the correct type for this project. The nuts can be removed with normal tools. Using the Red would require heating it first.
- BarneySExplorer IIII'm not sure it is a matter of the bolts loosening up rather than the gasket compressing down which then makes the bolts loose. In that case, the thread lock will not do any good.
