Not sure what yr your toyhauler is but my 06 winners circle is a Thor/Dutchman built with dexter axles. I think the next level is built by the same people.
Check with R & P Carriages trailer and rv sales in Seneca ILL. They have Dexter bare axle beams, for $100 plus shipping. Not sure of the width of yours, these are 95" you could call them and I'm sure they would be helpful. $800 for one axle sounds extremely high!
They aren't hard to install, if you have jack stands, a floor jack, the ability to remove 4 u-bolts and replace with 4 new u-bolts and can make a wiring connection you'll have it.
I would recommend doing the work with trailer attached to your truck that way you know its not going to move.
