Somewhat the same issue, I may go with just two inches with spacer blocks, certainly would not go any higher

Other solution is cutting off the hangers, welding new hangers to a heavy wall tube, whatever you need to raise the fifth wheel , and weld the tube to the frame, then going with the braces ,such as the MorRyde X-Factor. This seems the better way.

The reese 30154 picture frame is the same thing as the Pullrite #4439 , and a whole bunch cheaper, $200.00 cheaper, and works, and fits very well.

I have the same truck coming as well. There's a rail kit that fits the 2014 Ram 5th wheel prep OE Series Ram Industry Standard Adapter Part #: 4439 for the Pullrite 18k. It is however on backorder everywhere I ordered mine from http://www.dyersonline.com. My hitch is on its way and the Ram adapter will come as soon as they get them in stock. They are not cheep so get ready for the sticker shock

Sounds like we have the same truck 2014 3500 Megacab , I too went with the picture frame, but for the time being staying with my 18K Reese manual slider that I had in previous truck. If I start seeing any issues I too will go with the Superglide ISR series 2900 ( 18K ) The short pull I did last week everything looked okay. Taking a 500 mile round trip next week will see how the new truck does, as well as clearance etc. Have done a fair amount of research on prices for the picture frame as well as the Superglide if interested. One thing I found out there is about $200.00 difference in the price of the Pullrite picture frame ,and the Reese picture frame, the Reese being the cheaper one, and the one I went with.

Please share your thoughts on how your setup works out for you on the trip. Also, any issues with the 5th riding nose high (since the 3500's seem to sit up a bit and the picture frame adds some height also)? My truck should be in on the 24th, so a few more days I will know more:) Safe travels!

I too came from a ford shorbed 350, yes my new Ram the hitch is four inches closer to the cab then the ford, never a big issue with the ford ,normal driving nothing to worry about, did get close a couple times backing up, but then I have a slider if needed, but never used it other then backing into my rv pad beside the house which is pretty tight. Using the same slider on the new truck. Have towed once with the Ram, everything looks okay. If I find myself needing the slider for normal backing or turning around very often I will go with the ISR series superglide. IMO the manual slider is a PITA, if having to use often.

Good to know! I'm hoping I won't need the slider for "normal" towing. I'm pretty sure I'll need it to turn around in the cul de sac where I live.

I can let you know in a couple days have had my fifth parked elsewhere while having my roof reshingled . I will see if I can back in without puling the hitch back with the Ram. I could back my fifth wheel into my rv pad with the ford with or without pulling the slider back, but pulling it back made it a little easier, and not having to keep a close eye on the cab, so got in the habit of just pulling it back when I got home. As far as normal towing so far I see no problem with the ram ,and my setup.

I was just suggesting something for the OP since he don't own a hitch yet.
Me myself I'd get the picture frame also and keep using my 8 year old Reese 20K hitch.
Just thought the new B&W looked really clean, and less height than the picture frame adapter needs.
