2014 Evergreen Amped 28FS

I know mine was like that when new and empty. Once I had it loaded it was totally stable. Basically I think it was light on the hitch weight.

Has he tried it with and without water? That's about 8 pounds a gallon...

Sounds like lack of tongue weight but the Ford may not be up to the task. Check the tires. Consider a Blue Ox Sway Pro hitch. Good luck.

Excursion is 4WD with 6.0 diesel 3/4 ton. Towing capacity is 20,000#, so it is not the truck. Tongue weight is about 1800# so he bought an equalizer hitch with a sway bar to compensate for that. He hasn't checked into the Blue Ox brand, but will do so.

It was loaded with his belongings and his Rzr 800.

If I were to do it all over again this is what I would do in order.

Tires, max air
anti sway bar
leaf springs
shocks
air bags.

We have the Blue Ox Sway Pro and really like it.

He said his Excursion has the F350 springs because it came with a towing package, however he will check into the sway bar several have mentioned. Unsure why the one he has isn't doing the job.

Sway Bar? Do you mean something like a Friction Anti-Sway Bar? Pictured below



If that is the case that is a big part of the problem. Not enough hitch weight is part of it but those sway bars are for pop up trailers not anything much larger IMHO.

I'd get something more like the Equalizer that has weight distribution and anti-sway features.

The hitch weight is right at 15% according to the unit spec's in the lit. Does it pull any better without the rzr 800 in the back? I would suggest getting it weighed to see if it really is as the spec's say it should be. Good Luck.

If your loading a RZR in the back its going to have LESS tongue weight. How does it tow empty? THat will tell you if its a tongue weight issue.
