- leggyExplorerI do. Don't see why it would be any different.
- C_B_ExplorerAs long as the 30 amp is 110 volt not 220 volt.
C.B. - CampinfanExplorer IIILast fall I had a 30 amp 110 volt post added to my back yard where I park the trailer. This year we bought a new fiver that has 50 amp...wouldn't you know it. I use the adapter and it is fine.
- ckwizard777ExplorerThanks guys,
Yeh I just sold the TT and picked up a Montana 3400 and have not had a chance to rewire the box for 50amp yet but I do have the adapter hence the question. - Dennis_M_MExplorerNo sweat, we spent the last 5 winters on 30 amp with the doggone connector. Everything works fine, even the single AC.
- CA_TravelerExplorer IIIWorks fine and you won't know the difference except for the 30A limit.
- 2-MTnestersExplorerckwizard777, I used the 50-30amp adapter when we traded up to our Montana 3400RL before I was able to upgrade to 50amp hookup and experienced no issues. As you probably already know, you will not be able to run 2 air units but everything else will operate as normal. You may also be interested in the Montana Owners Club forum. Great people with a wealth of information. Enjoy your new rig and safe travels. Tim

Is it safe to use one of these to plug my 50amp trailer in at home.
I have a 30amp plug at home and mainly just want to keep the batteries charged.
Thanks
For years I have had a 30 amp receptacle both in my shop and my back yard and I use a dog bone and I have never had a problem. I used to park my trailer in my shop. Over the years you make many good RV friends, the only way you can get them to come visit you is if you have full hook ups thus the 30 amp service out back. I have since built an RV barn out back and now park my trailer out there. I have considered upgrading to 50 amp service but have decided that I really don't need it. Like others have said it will work just fine as long as you only use one A/C.
