3M Protective Film

I have the full paint on my Voltage and I love it. The only thing I don't like are the scratches that get on there from pulling into campgrounds or camping spots with branches that have scratched the side.

I was curious if the 3M protective film they put on cars these days would be of benefit. Maybe a strip of it along the top 2' of each side.

Have any of you done this or heard of it being done?
  • You know your not, and Full Body Paint on a Voltage getting scratched by a limb, "Cold Chills".

The clear film has it's place in the industry, but I wouldn't cover an entire front cap with it. I certainly understand the concern with the branches, and scratches. I can't be the only one that has bad thought's about the campground when I see the low hanging tree limbs over the road. You know they could prune those limbs to prevent someone from having damage to their camper.

I complained at one of the locations we visit and they told me to let me know next time I come through and someone will trim the trees ahead of me. Like I really want to add an hour to my arrival. I cant be the only one who has complained.

  • We had 3M on our 2004 Class A and it also mildewed and cracked. We just finished removing the******and had the front painted. I would not recommend that product.
  • 3M and Diamond Shield have been putting clear shields on the front for years. Never heard of anyone adding it to the sides but why not.

I had Diamond Shield on my front and it mildewed underneath after 4-5 years and was a night mare to remove. I would never put it on again, although it did protect my paint.
  • The overgrowing trees annoy me too. I've trimmed a number of trees in various campsites!
