5th whee insurance?

They will shop around for you among several companies.

We had Progressive on our fifth wheel, on our previous motorhome, and our current coach. We have USAA on our car, but they don't cover fifth wheels or motorhomes. We have been very happy with Progressive and have filed two or three claims which were handled very well.

I haven't had many claims but I just always use the regular company that insures our car, home, etc. and have done so for many RV's. I kind of think that the ads to use special companies for RV's may just be hype or advertisement. I did have 1 significant claim for our present Motor home(my fault) and there was no problem.

The OP stated it doesn't do him any good, but USAA does insure fifth wheel RVs - just not motorhomes any more. Our fifth wheel is insured with USAA along with the rest of our rolling stock.

I do the same, never made sense to bring in "another" company. Never had a problem. Knocking wood.

I just have a Ryder on truck policy for up to 100K. I pay $225 every 6 mo.

38' Sierra Sport through Travelers. $37 every 6 months. $50 deductible for comprehensive and $100 for collision.

GBuilders, There is no single insurer that's always best or cheapest for everyone in every state. What someone else pays for their specific vehicle, in their state, based on their personal record, has little to do with what your rate will be.

Your best bet is to go to an independent agent (not tied to any specific carrier) and have them get you apples to apples quotes from 4 or 5 different insurers.
You should decide ahead of time, what coverages, liability limits, deductibles, and type of full loss coverage you want. Don't leave those choices up to the quoters.

I agree Rob, i don't understand how so much totally wrong info gets on this board. We also have something like two decades worth of fifth wheels insured under the USAA policy, :S
