Advice on 5th wheel amenities

Hey Foaks!

We are planning a transition from our 5th wheel to a class A. Our Cameo has a 5000kw propane generator. We are thinking we could do better selling the generator separately vs. including it with the rig on a trade. Not trying to sell it here, just looking for advice.

Thanks!

5KW won't run very much. By the time the permits, electrician, and gas company get done with you you'll be backing up. Take the $1000 and run.

I did this very thing. In fact salesman suggested it since it cost us about 5k as an option but only gave us about 1k at trade in. So, here it sits in my garage. I have tried 3 times on Craigslist with only one hit and he wanted to pay 1k. Thinking I may just wire it in as a stand by for the house.

The resale value of a loose generator is not very much. You will have to price it cheap to sell it. Then there is the hassle of storing it and moving it around before the sale. It's just a bad idea all the way around

Good advice!

Stripping the 5ver may come back to haunt you. You will be assuming a potential buyer won't know? Won't see its imprint on the RV floor? Won't look it up? And that similar 5vers don't have generators. Penny wise...pound...

Don't list it as 5000kw.
