After market protective coatings?

A friend of mine had a product call ResistALL applied to his 5er before he took delivery. It was pricey. The rig always looks clean/shiny though. Has anybody else had a product applied by the RV Dealer, ResistALL or another product? Was it worth it? Any pros and cons? Thanks Rene'
  • Thanks all, Grumpy tried to look up your dealer with no luck, to find your product info. Is IIRC abbreviated for the dealer. Rene'
  • One of the biggest rip offs in the industry. You can do the same thing with a bottle of Rejex, Simonize Ice, Nu Finish or countless others. It is a polymer coating the same thing they use. On the inside they spray on some Scotch Guard or similar. Their total cost is under $25.00 for materials. I was in the car business for years. We loved to sell those packages! Look at the fine print on their "Guarantee" Usually amounts to a partial refund if it doesn't work. Pro-rated of course....

  • What ever they put on my 5er has kept the black streaks off for a year and the bugs wash right off. Haven't touched it with wax yet. So is it worth it? I think so. I don't have the paper work readily available, but IIRC the dealer said it was a 5 year guarantee against any decal fading as well.

Just my 3 cents, inflation you know..
  • I don't know anything about ResistALL.
The protective coatings are usually mostly profit for the dealer.
Wax and wash your RV on a regular basis, it will be clean/shiny all the time.
    You will be money ahead.
