maybe you're trying to get a list for a software application ?
if so, one way is to allow your customers to build the list for you, by giving an "Other" selection they can type the mfg into...
then use that to add to your list either automatically or only after verification... did that many times in the past...
just trying to find out how I can help...
You could always go to a few different retail sites that ask for mfg and see what their list has :)
