Artctic fox

We purchased a new 2013 AF 27-5L Fifth Wheel a little over one year ago. It had a couple small problems that Northwood had fixed right away. The nice thing about Northwood is that they will authorize local repair if there is not a Dealer in your area. My only complaint is that it is heavy. Loaded ready to camp 11600# pin weight 2450#. That puts my 02 F350 Diesel 750 over on GVWR and real close to GCVWR.

I am the owner of an Artic Fox 29-5T , purchased new, coming up
this summer on 2 years ownership... so , my opinion is biased.
(but hopefully not overly emotional).

Our unit is well made, the floor plan we desired, and other then
a few piddly issues (manual crank holes did not align with
crank) has been problem free. We purchased the "Silver Fox Edition"
so enjoy a few of the nice upgrades (listed on website). The Rv seemed
to be "turn-key" on arrival.

For the amount of money you will be investing it may be worth your
time/satisfaction to locate the "nearest" dealership...request in-depth video ,
and make your decision. If I had a "do-over" I'm not
sure I could come up with any significant changes or add-ons... I had considered
larger axles and tires/wheels but have since come to find that in our Rv'ing range
and favorite sites that may have been a bit of over-kill... and, would not see
return on that part of the investment.

We would purchase again . Good luck in your hunt... they seem to be on most
"short lists" for RV's in the initial hunt phase. And the scarcity of gently used units
seems to speak to owner loyalty.

We looked at AF again yesterday. I really like them, but I don't like their interior colors and the weight runs about 800 to 1000 lbs more than similar models from other manufacturers. That is both good and bad. You have to pay the price for the better construction...more weight. I guess I should be used to the concept by now, having owned an Alpen-ton for awhile. In their behalf, all other things being equal I'd buy the Arctic Fox.

I am a little puzzled why a maker with such a good product would not try to get it sold more widely?

Actually they had a factory in West Virgina (? Penn ?) and closed it back about 04 or 05.
Some friends out your way drove several states to get their Fox.
I have to say we thought well enough of our first one (after 10+ years) we bought another one.

Before we bought our Arctic Fox did all the research and decided we wanted to see one. We found a dealer in Minnesota, even had the model we were interested in. One look was all it took to see it was the one we wanted.

Yes well built but heavy and not cheap. No free lunch when it comes to a 4 season off road capable rig.

Don't own one but they look very nice. Heavy though.

They are well built but hard to find in the East. They do have a different look about them but if I had a choice and the TV to pull it, I would never hesitate on an AF.

I do not have an of Artctic Fox but I have heard they are an excellent RV. We did not like the lay out and type of furnature. They are 4 season.
