Correct. Remove the ball from the bed and drop on the base and lock the lever. Pull it all out when you are finished. Easy and slick.

The B&W Companion works with the B&W turnover GN hitch. It comes in two pieces so you can remove it fairly easily. There is one drawbolt on top torqued to 40 ft lbs and two "U" bolt clamps torqued to 80 ft lbs that clamp the hitch to the locked post that goes into the square socket once you remove the GN ball. It allows movement both for & aft and side to side, tows like a dream. It also allows adjustments for up, down, fore and aft. Takes about 15 minutes or less to remove and I'm an old man.

You are correct. I have two duallies with the Turnover Ball underbed hitches in them and one Companion. Love these 'Made in the USA" hitches.

X4 to what Alley said. You don't put it on top of the gooseneck ball, you pull the ball out and part of the companion goes down into it.

Very quick setup and removal.

The hitch comes apart in 2 manageable pieces. I keep a furniture dolly in the garage and can easily move the hitch around once it's out of the truck.

The B&W Companion hitch with Turnover Ball System is rated at 18K.

The B&W Patriot that attaches to rails is rated at 16K.

I agree with everyone. This is a wonderful hitch and very easy in and out. Even with my short bed it works well and I don't have any problems with it.

Great hitch. I bought mine used so don't know if I am doing right but I lock mine in then tighten bolt then the two u-bolts. Is that correct way to do it?
