The last time I adjusted the controller was years ago. I don't remember how to adjust it and need to. I could smell the truck brakes last time I was out. Help ?....

I have not towed with a 2012 or newer RAM. My Dad's is a 12 he says his built in controller is great.

The built in controller on my 11 is good compared to the P2 I had but not acceptable in my book. I tried swapping my Dad's for mine and it did not make a difference. So two summers ago in Pahrump, NV I bought the MaxBrake from Dutch & Di. Installed it and all I can say is the braking is exactly the same without the trailer. NEVER do you feel the trailer brakes coming on it is truly seamless!

Well I had a Prodigy for years and then got a MaxBrake! Night and day difference. Like Cummins says, to bad they are gone along with BrakeSmart.

No "want to be" brake controller that relies on the truck motion to change before it does anything can compare to one that is tied into the trucks brake system.

Wish I had bought much sooner, like when BrakeSmart first came out!

So I guess I am " stupid or very uninformed" because when I had a P2 towing our Avion Platinum I need to set it to 1 when in a RV park for example because stop and go was too jerky. In town driving I would set it to 2. There were a couple times I forgot to go back to 3 and felt like I had no brakes when on the freeway hitting the brakes.

Everything was adjusted per the directions and RV brakes were adjusted.

I don't think you should have to adjust anything after the initial setup.

My MaxBrake is set and forget with perfect braking in all conditions.

I use to have the Prodigy P3 and found I was having to change it for different road conditions. The new integrated brake controller on my truck is fantastic.

Good reason for you to not like the prodigy. Never had any of those problems on 2 trucks but didn't like the voyager ever.

we have had our prodigy since 2001 and it works very good for us and no reason to think we need more but I have hit the button to change the boost at times but having worked in construction my entire working I can still push a button with out difficultly. It is important to have the trailers brakes adjusted properly.

It's not a good feeling to be set on 1 when out on the highway and you hit the brakes then try to bump up to 3. That is the reason I would never tow with a P2 again.

A guy would have to be stupid or very uninformed to do as you think.

Not how it is done I would hope.
chevman

Are you saying you leave yours set on one setting ALL the time?

Yes but if I pull into a gravel rv park I might hit the boost to the #1 setting and back to the 2nd boost when leaving. One finger job and that it's.

We run a P3 with Dexter Disks and wouldn't have anything else.

Go to the manufacturer's web site and download a user's manual. Then adjust away.
