So I guess I am " stupid or very uninformed" because when I had a P2 towing our Avion Platinum I need to set it to 1 when in a RV park for example because stop and go was too jerky. In town driving I would set it to 2. There were a couple times I forgot to go back to 3 and felt like I had no brakes when on the freeway hitting the brakes.
Everything was adjusted per the directions and RV brakes were adjusted.
I don't think you should have to adjust anything after the initial setup.
My MaxBrake is set and forget with perfect braking in all conditions.

It is important to have the trailers brakes adjusted properly.

It's not a good feeling to be set on 1 when out on the highway and you hit the brakes then try to bump up to 3. That is the reason I would never tow with a P2 again.
A guy would have to be stupid or very uninformed to do as you think.
Not how it is done I would hope.

Are you saying you leave yours set on one setting ALL the time?
