cedar creek 38 RD

Well it time to buy a new fifth wheel. Have a 2007 35ft sunny brook titan, great trailer but saw the cedar creek 38RD on line. It is a new model does anybody have any info on this trailer the brochures are not out yet. going to look at one when it comes in . it should be at the dealer in 3 weeks. Also how are forest river products?? I loved sunnybrook no problems, but love this layout. thanks
  • its not a new flooorplan they have had it for years.Look up on google lots of dealers uave them.It is a very nice unit you will not go wrrong buying it
  • Probably the best customer service in the industry. With CC you get a lot of bang for the buck. And decent build quality.
  • 38RD is a new floor plan for 2015 model year. Came out earlier this year. Very nice floor plan. We have a 38FL and love it. CC has been great to work with on the few minor issues we did have, including the body work that was required (self inflicted wounds) ... We found it to be a good value for the money.

  • does anyone have a fifth wheel with the outside kitchen? like the 38Rd
  • Love our CC, good bang for the buck, not a mobile suit but a very good trailer and not that far from the top end mass produced! Like the DRV's,Lifestyle's imo
  • We have one of the new 2015 Cedar Creek floorplans, ours is the 38FB2. We are full timers so we wanted the additional storage room that the FB2 has with the pantry option. Tried towing it with my nephews Chev SRW 3500 originally since I knew it was seriously over the payload of my F250 Diesel. Ended up getting a F350 dually with the factory Reese hitch. Haven't weighed it yet loaded but am betting on at least 3200 to 3400 pounds straight pin weight. Did a 3 hour plus PDI (used the Tom Boles ver 1.3 checklist) and found three screws not fully tightened and two cabinet latches not properly adjusted, great quality control. Lived in it two of the last three weeks and everything is still good. This is our second Forest River product and we never had a single problem that wasn't resolved to our full satisfaction.
  • I saw the 38RD at the FROG rally last year. Let me tell you - THAT is one sweet unit! I always liked the 38FL, but I actually like this one better. I think almost all CC owners would put their trailers right at the top of the under $100K class of fifth wheels, especially considering the outstanding customer service CC provides.

Someone else mentioned the great customer service from Forest River and Cedar Creek. I agree 100%. If you can get to the FROG rally in Goshen, IN in August 2015, I'd highly recommend it. Not only a great rally, but all the FR manufacturers send out their maintenance crews to take care of any problems you may have with your unit - FREE!
  • I believe the FROG rally has a registration fee of $400. I plan on going in 2015.

WE LOVE our 2009 CC Silverback. CC Customer service is the best!

As Newman Fulltimer stated, it's not a new floorplan; they made it years ago, under a different model # 37RQDS. New 38 is obviously updated from then, but you get the idea.
