Cleaning and waxing 5th wheel

A few years back there were several post on striping , cleaning and using some type floor wax on a fiberglass trailer. It was a combination of FSB, Barkeepers friend, and a gel coat floor wax. Does anyone recall the proper supplies and how to use them?
  • Last winter we were camped next to a fellow with an older Southwind motorhome that he had used the ZEP floor wax on. It had been on about 3 years and he had re-coated annually. It was starting to look dingy or yellowed and when it rained if got some hazy streaks in it.

My feeling is that this is an indoor wax and not meant for outdoor use.

  • I used the Red Max Pro/ZEP process on our 96 Southwind. It does a nice job and holds up well. I don't have any problems with streaking, other than the normal black streaks from the roof.

Our Southwind is tan & brown so, I don't notice any yellowing.

Here is the Zep Application Process.

There was a post about using Concrete Sealer to restore the shine on fiberglass. You may find it interesting.
  • I did the rmp process to mine four seasons ago, haven't touched it since, outside of washing. It still looks better than before I did it. I do need to refresh the coat this season, but I never had any problems with streaking or yellowing.
