Close Call

This thing fell onto our RV this morning in a wind storm.....no injuries, but a lot of holes in the front of the fifth wheel. Kinda sucks............but could have been worse.

Interesting higher power discussion........the wind was blowing, the tree fell over, nobody was killed or injured, I just want my fifth wheel to keep me dry;)

Interesting ? yes, but sad at the lack of discernment

  • Edited due to a lapse of judgement ...

OP I'm glad you and yours is safe
  • Glad most everything is okay. It reminds me of a few years back we brought our rig home, parked it in the street where we usually do. Had the next day been forecast dry I would have left the truck attached and drove the roadster to work, but it was forecast for rain. The truck was parked in the driveway when about 10pm we heard the crash, a large limb from our oak crashed down right where the truck would have been parked, the only damage was to some fencing. We moved the debris off the road and went camping for the weekend.

I think HE is the one that made the tree fall.
  • So there are two 4" diameter holes that extend entirely through the front wall of the camper, coming into the living space. Not sure about structural integrity (stuck at work all day). I need to get up on the roof and check all the corners, roof integrity, etc.

With the weight of that tree, and the possibility of structural damage, what do you folks think the insurance company might do?
  • I had something like that happen about 8 years ago. Our Dutchmen was parked beside the house and the neighbor tree fell over. It was simply amazing, the tree wrapped itself completely around the trailer, so close you couldn't hardly get a tissue paper between the branches, leaves, and the camper. But nothing actually touched the camper. Only one spot got affected. One of the gutter tips got cracked. That was it. It was absolutely amazing, and I thanked the "Man Upstairs" over and over that He spared my camper.

You are very fortunate also. HE is with you also! Glad you're OK and your camper is too!
