Anybody ever heard of them?
Now, looking for a 18# hitch for my Rv. Need help, recommendations.
I know this is like asking what tire or oil to use. I just don't have a clue.
Your experience will help me sort things out!

When had a short bed truck, i bought the Curt Q24 slider and it always worked perfect. Now that we have a long bed i have the same hitch but I dont need the slider. I really like the hitch performs.

Curt 16K here. Love it. You can easily see if the jaws are locked around your kingpin.

I haul a 2014 Keystone cougar, 7500lbs., with a 2013 Silverado 2500HD, w/the curt 16116 5th. yoke. (16,000lb) Me personally, I liked the idea that the locking rod is a solid piece of steel, no teeth to worry about not by passing to lock or loosening over time w/wear. I just like the steel bar idea better.

Before pulling the trigger check out the B&W. You will see a big difference in my opinion.

X2-I never do a pull test either-just look at the jaws to make sure they are closed. I am sure you will like either one. Good luck

We have the Curt Q24K - so far has been a great hitch. Also installed a Curt MFG reciever (Class V) when we were towing a TT - Quality product at a decent price.

Thanks for the response. I guess I really need to know if there is a diffrence in the inside box height between a 2010 GMC and 2012 F 250. When I go to get my trailer, I guess I will need to take some 3/4 wrenches and sockets incase I need to adjust it....

It's all a matter of your pin box and hitch height. On my '06 F-350, I have the hitch set all the way down(top set of holes)to keep my trailer level. My Lippert pin box is in the middle set of holes. On your Heartland, it's almost a certainty it will be different. I would recommend the middle bolt setting on your Curt. Hook up and see how level the trailer is and make your adjustments from there. You'll want to keep at LEAST 6" of space from the top of the bedrails to the underside of your fiver when hooked up, ready to travel.

Hey guys,
I see that several of you have Ford F250 with a Curt Q20 slider. I recently swithched over from a GM to a Ford. My 5ver is about 120 miles away from here so I can't test hook it to see if I need to adjust the hitch up or down. In the GMC 2500, I had the hitch on the lowest holes to pull level. I know the Ford sits about 1" lower than the Gm did, so I am a bit concerned I will need to raise it to haul level.

Question to you all is which set of holes do you have the Curt set at in your F250's??

Thanks for all your help on this!!!

After I made the top post I went to the B&w site to see what made it so much safer than the other hitches. I can't find a thing.I would like to here what safty features it has that make it such a great hitch.

For one I have never heard of bed damage and B&W in the same sentence. That says a lot!

When the kingpin and hitch plates are touching the handle is closed and locked and a quick glance to see the massive 1" thick jaws are closed around the kingpin then there is no way the RV can fall to the bed!

With the jaws being so thick that if you were to have the kingpin sitting on top of the jaws you will see a huge gap between the hitch and kingpin plate. With the thinner jaws 1/2" thick like the Curt the gap between the hitch and kingpin plate is much smaller and may not be noticed in poor light and then the trouble starts.

Talk to people that have had B&W and another brand, they all will tell you the B&W is the best. My last was RBW, no comparison at all. My Dad went from RBW and he feels the same.

I never do a pull test, if you do what I said above there is no reason to do so.

Also if it matters B&W is 100% designed and made in USA.

This sounds like an employee of B&W. Just remember, no one will bash the hitch they have, only the other guy's... I truly am a Curt owner and I think it's the best ever made. See?

Hitches made today are so much better than they were a few years ago, there's not much difference any more. Select the one you like and if its priced right, go with it!

Don't see any bashing in my post.

I used Curt as an example because the topic is Curt and I mentioned the thinner 1/2" jaws. If that is bashing oh well!

No not an employee but a VERY satisfied customer. B&W in the last two trucks.

I was asked what made it safer and I think I gave good reasons why i feel it is a safer hitch.

I gave reasons for my staunch B&W support.......I have others but I was asked about safety.
