Difference in pulling

Yes, you should notice an improvement in towing, braking and turning are about the same, a 5er does track a little more inside on a turn than a TT.
You will find a 5th wheel is taller, so you just need toi be aware of that.

The 5th wheel will be more stable towing in cross winds. And a 5th wheel turns more inside the turn radius of the truck, so you have to take somewhat wider turns to avoid hitting curbs or dropping off in ditches, just like a semi on a smaller scale. But otherwise, no difference in starting and stopping and general towing.

Are you asking if there will be a difference between the tt and 5er? Or between the two 5er's?

You will definitely notice a difference between the tt and 5er.
As far as the 38'or 41'er.. not much, except on tighter turns.

Towing difference between your two choices? No, not really. You will still be shut out of some camp sites due to length wirh either one.

At first it will feel like you are towing a house behind you. Quickly you will become just as comfortable towing a 5th wheel as you are with a TT

The biggest differences I noticed #1. backing up....reacts slower so you have to turn sooner, #2. being passed by semi's doesn't get the "suck in/push out" feel...much more stable.

The main difference will be getting into gas islands if there kinda tight as well as other tight turns with the longer 5er. Assuming both are around the same weight, all other aspects of towing will be similar.

Towing straight, you will not notice the difference. When turning corners, a longer FW will cut more to the inside. I don't think you'd notice too much change from 38-41 feet.

I wouldn't think so. The Montana is a little heavier (1600 lbs) and a little higher (3"), but not significantly. The length shouldn't matter in towing except when pulling away from the fuel pump - don't turn quick and "slap" your back corner! That would be more of a problem in the High Country because of the length. Make your decision based on the floor plan and other features.

Your biggest difference will be going from a TT to a fiver.
