Does full hook-ups really mean full hook-ups?

We have reservations in Canada this summer for Trailer Court in Banff National Park, Whistlers in Jasper, and Redstreak in Kootenay Park. The sites are advertised as having full hook-ups.

For those that have been there, does this mean they have the sewer dump connection at your campsite, or do I need to pull my trailer to a centralized dump site at the campground.

The trailers I'm considering are a Grand Design Reflection 28bh or a Momentum 328m. The Reflection apparently has two 43 gal gray tanks, while the Momentum has two 57 gal gray tanks. I know about the Valterra gate valve trick, which allows both tanks to equalize. I just want to know how much hassle I'm going to be going through when we camp in the state, national, and provincial parks.

If they said full hook up and there was no sewer connection at the site then they lied and would have some explaining to do.

I could be just me, but I'm pretty sure if FHU didn't really mean FHU that tons of campers would have raised holy hell by now. I tend to go with the common sense approach that if they have been in business a few years, they kind of know what they're doing. That doesn't leave out the possibility, especially if you are doing online reservation, that you are paying for Electric only and expecting FHU. But if you are on the phone clearly asking for FHU, I would expect that is what you will be getting.

While I'm no expert, I've yet to encounter a CG listing that wasn't specific as to what was available. Some CGs have areas with W/E/S, others with W/E only and other areas as "primitive", or no hookups at all. I've seen the "standard" designation with the detail of W/E only with a central dump. If you have any qualms about a specific CG, call. :B

I've never heard of a description of "full hookup" meaning that it's a dump station vs. sewer at the individual sites.

Personally, since getting my sewer bladder, I don't have to worry about sewer hookups any longer! It's been WONDERFUL. Wife still does laundry and we still shower like normal. I just offload water to the bladder until its full.

A point of clarification - the reservation system for the Canadian parks states that are sites are for full hook-ups...water, electricity and sewer. I just want to know for sure whether this means our campsite has a physical sewer dump onsite rather than a centralized sewer dump site.

Most of the res sites list full hook ups as water sewer and elec.
Just water and elec is sometimes listed as standard.
IMO if you don't have all three hookups it can't be full.

don't know about Canada but FHU should be E/W/S/

I can vouch for Whistler, yes, sewer, water and electric at the site. Not every site has all three, some are electric only, and others have no hookups at all.
