Domestic fridge keeps showing E1 message on display ??

I have a 2004 Cardinal 40' fifth wheel . Lately I get a red light ones splayed on my hot water heater and have to reset it two or three times so it will light and also I am now getting an E1 message on my Dometic fridge display . I have to turn the power off ,then on again to get rid of E1 message and at random ,, a half hour to 6 or 7 hours it will show E1 again .
Fridge model is RM3962 .
E1 indication is igniter and valve off ,,,gas hardware fault .
I don't care to monkey with anything propane ,,,,do I need a service man ??
All replies much appreciated .
Thanks for your time

  • Try lightning the stove and see how the flame looks. If you just turned the gas valve on at the tank you might have done it too quickly.
    Don
  • First check DC voltage at the control boards. It should be above 12 volts and MUST be above 11.4 volts.

Then have an LP technician (since you don't like doing gas work) check the line pressure AT THE APPLIANCES. Not at the regulator. You should have pressure equal to 11 inches of water.
  • What is your 12V DC voltage?

RED light on water heater (Fault)......main flame failed to light/prove
E1 on fridge......igniter and valve off----gas hardware fault

BOTH problems could be due to low DC voltage
  • You are having two different problems related to propane. If the tank is full and the valve is fully open then it's time for a service person if you are not comfortable working on the propane.
