DRV has a TH on the production line.

Just a heads up for those that have fought quality issues in the past, DRV has determined that there is enough demand for their level of product in the TH market. I went on a plant tour in hopes that it would be possible to talk them into building one and was amazed to see one going down the production line. For those not familiar with DRV they are the company that builds the Mobile Suites family of fifth wheels, known for quality and durability within the full timer community.
What I learned during the tour was that they have three models scheduled for production, all will be approximately 44 foot, trim levels will be above almost anything available now, new options such as power washer and fold down work benches are being offered, customization will be encouraged, Residential Refrigerator will be standard with three way an option if someone wants it. The pricing is not finished yet but I would imaging that one could look ate the price of one of there fifth wheels and not be too far off, the max weight will be around 24k and official announcement will be in a month or so at a RV Show but I forgot the name of it.
For us this is very exciting news since there are so few TH with the finish levels that this will have, the residential appliances, the willingness to customize... Thanks DRV

They built 3 a few years ago and this time are listening to customers more in the design stages, we have been invited back to view the first one again when close to finished to give feedback on it. We are full-time in our current TH and they are interested in our point of view as such, this to me indicates that they are interested in satisfying the needs and desires of their customers rather than just package what they think will sell. Seeing how they build compared to the other plants we toured was very informative.

I hope you take advantage of their offer to go back and provide inputs. I think a full timer in a TH would be a great resource.

We will be there tomorrow and are making lists of things to be sure that nothing gets left out of the discussion.

We were just at the factory and saw the prototype frame before it moved to another area of the plant. Probably to start moving down the line as you mentioned.

I didn't care for the previous TH they offered for a couple years. No door from garage to living quarters. You had to go outside and around to enter. I was told that will change with the new one.

While not interested in a TH at this time, I'm looking forward to seeing their completed units. We just bought our second DRV in January and are extremely happy with it.

Mobile Suites is not above problems with their units. We parked next to a lady with one who had one she had ordered from the dealer. There were so many problems that it had to go back to the factory to be repaired. She still had a couple small problems but all the major ones had been fixed. She was happy with it, but not happy that it had so many issues right from the factory.

They may be good units, but some bad ones still come through.

The good news is that her unit was repaired rather than ignored, anything built is subject to defects, some companies admit this and some do not.
