Fifth wheel jack

What to use to connect rod that drives non motorized Jack to motor. Don't know what original part was. Less than 1/4 " clearance.
On a long trip and stuck
Help

I'd find a round tube that will fit over the shaft and drill holes through it to fit the hole spacing between the 2 shaft ends. Bolt one end with a decent grade 5 bolt but see if you can find a soft bolt or pin for the other side to act as a shear pin. Some people have recommended having shear pins/bolts on both sides. Option is to check with the jack manufacturer and see if they have ready-made parts or, if not, what they recommend to use.

  • Discovered by watching one video that maybe my motor is not placed correctly on the gear box. So I am thinking that i need to take it off and turn it but then it might only fit one way?

Google "How to replace fifth-wheel landing gear" and watch a few youtube videos. One of them should go through the steps of disconnecting and reconnecting the rod.
