It's called leverage. The Fifth wheel pin is usually 1 inch ahead of the drive axel for most units. That would not produce much wieght to the front axle. It would be less the 100 lbs. If it was directly on top of the drive axle it would 0 lbs on the front axle.
Yep, simple beam calculation. Assuming the pin is centered 1 inch ahead of the axle.
2760 pin weight * 1 inch = 2760 in-lb
To counter that assuming 168 in wheel base
2760 in-lb / 168 in = 16.4lb of upward lift on the front axle.
I believe CAT scales round off the results plus there is an allowable error...so not surprising that it came out the same with or without.
